Asheem, The Boy Who Could Not Read, is the second book published by author/teacher, Sharon D. Ulett, M.Ed. Her first book, “The Three Little Urban Pigs, A Modern Tale of The Three Little Pigs” was published in October of 2013. Ms. Ulett is an autistic support teacher working in the School District of Philadelphia. She was born in Jamaica (the setting of this story), but migrated to the United States in 1993. Sharon has always had the desire to become an educator, but finally decided to make it her career when one of her sons was diagnosed with a learning disability. Ms. Ulett has a deep love for children and a passion for education. She enjoys teaching, writing and telling stories and is also a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities.
