Synopsis

JD Jakubcin has produced a witty and wonderful poetry collection describing the ironies of life in Central Florida. The self-proclaimed "Bard of the Black Hammock" delves into delicate emotions and sensual descriptions, ranging in genre from love songs to vitriolic satire. This collection of poems will leave you laughing and yearning for more delicious words. Her first book was self-published in 2009 under the pen name "Joan Ruth." Her second book came out in 2013, a historical fiction entitled The Adventures of Dysingli Soon. The word "Dysingli" was invented by the author from the name Dyson, the author's maiden name. She grew up in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio and has lived in Central Florida since graduating from college in December 1984. Joanna earned a BS degree in Public Administration from Indiana University at Bloomington. Since then, she has held a variety of fascinating vocations, from urban planning to bookkeeping at a family trust office. Joanna's uniquely discerning view of the world, from the awkward to the glorious, derives in part from her cross-section of eccentric experiences.
