Synopsis

Pol Winchester, the tough cop and Army veteran discovers a sordid world of exploitation and crime putrefying below the surface of respectability and local business. Pol is unable to combat this cancer as the powers that be turn a blind eye, afraid of political fallout, to the pain and suffering all around them An old comrade reaches out to Pol. Tied together by honour and a shared secret Pol and Hicks embark on a course that will bring them into a direct confrontation with authority and the criminal gang that deals in drugs and whores on the streets of the town. Their fight becomes personal when families are threatened and together they descend into a hell of their own making. Pol’s principles and beliefs are thrown into question as he fights to save the life and innocence of those around him. All of the time a sinister puppeteer, unknown to Pol, controls his fate. A prequel to Dark Valley and the second book published in the Winchester trilogy. Greater Good invites the reader to explore a world of crime and squalor that is far too close for comfort.
