Elmer Kay, the Peanut Butter Kid, plans his Birthday Party with his parents, close friends and the family dog, Pappy. They all decide on what peanut butter refreshments should be served. Elmer surprises everyone when he tells them what he would like to do instead of having people give him presents. His mother, Mrs. Kay comes up with an idea. All of them find a way to make her plan work. Everybody feels very good about the party and all want to do the same thing for their celebrations. The author envisions this book not only as an enjoyable read but as a tool for discussions by teachers, parents, kids, adults and an instrument to raise moneys for all charitable and non-profit organizations. She wishes every party will become a “White Envelope Party” and that the joy of giving enhances everyone’s special occasions. Suggested for ages 4 and up.

For Cynthia Kagan Frohlichstein the publication of this book is an Eighty-Fifth birthday present to herself. She feels the importance of everyone sharing good fortunes with others. Cynthia believes the best time to learn about helping other people occurs when children are young. Hopefully parents, teachers, librarians, religious leaders, relatives and friends will emulate Elmer's idea for the perfect gift for all of life's celebrations. Ms. Frohlichstein also considers this book as a way of expressing her gratitude for her Thirty-Ninth anniversary of being a breast-cancer survivor. The community has honored Cynthia by naming her a "Woman of Achievement" for Lifetime Service and a "Woman of Worth" by The Outstanding Women's League for her volunteer activities. In 2014 she will be named as one of "The Ageless, Remarkable St. Louisans" by St. Andrew's Senior Services. This is her second children's book. Her first book, The Perils of the Peanut Butter Kid received national and regional awards. A donation from every book sold was made to cancer organizations. Before writing children's books, Frohlichstein worked as an award-winning journalist. She has been honored by her writing associates with "The Catfish Award", The Press Club of Metropolitan St Louis' most prestigious award and also received their President's "Above and Beyond Award" in 2013. The National Federation of Press Women honored her with the "Quest Award" for her skills and journalistic integrity. Frohlichstein has a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in English from Washington University in St. Louis. She completed her MA in Communication and Public Relations from Webster University, also in St. Louis. A donation from every book sold will go to non-profit cancer groups and/or other organizations that work to improve the health and well-being of both children and adults. The author hopes that this book will be used to raise funds, not only by cancer organizations but by all non-profits.
