À propos de l'auteur

Roswitha Leuthold McIntosh grew up in Germany when Hitler came to power and ruled with an iron hand—years of nightly air raids, hunger and utter misery. In the fifties, she spent two years working and studying in England and France. A Fulbright scholarship brought her to Smith College USA. For two years, she says, her smile never vanished. It was like being in Paradise. She graduated in 1955 and attended the new Harvard/Radcliffe Program in Business Administration for Women. After a year in the Dominican Republic where her husband was involved in the administration of an American sugar company, they set sail in a schooner from New York through the Panama Canal to California. Eight-inch long icicles swayed from the ship’s rigging. The vessel’s only passenger was their twelve-month old baby daughter. During her midnight watch, she says, a dolphin regularly circled the schooner and gurgled his greetings to her. They settled in San Francisco where she became the editor of the German newspaper. She taught various courses in the MBA and CPCU programs at Golden Gate University and spent the next 25 years as risk management consultant and editor for Warren, McVeigh’s publications. Since retiring, she has written five books, among them the bestseller "The Madman and His Mistress—History in the Making."
