Robert Riley was born in Detroit. He grew up in a happy and prosperous middle-class environment, and after graduating from college he started his long career in the automotive industry. He didn’t work for one of the Big Three manufacturers; he worked for companies like Lear and Bendix hat sold automotive parts and systems. This gives him a unique perspective: He’s an outsider and an insider at the same time. Writing with a lively, albeit curmudgeon, style, he entertains readers with his wry whit and incisive comments on living and working. A family man, Robert married Susan, the love of his life; they raised their children in Detroit and New York, trying their best to provide a piece of the American Dream. Retired now, Robert lives in sunny San Diego, where he strives to continually fill his life with excitement and enjoyment, relishing in traveling, playing master-level bridge—and writing!
