Nancy Riecken is the general editor for the publications produced by the Community Writers. She is Program Chair of English and Communications at the Gary, Indiana campus of Ivy Tech Community College where she teaches composition, world literature, and public speaking. She is managing editor of The Atrium (http://nwi.ivytech.edu/atrium) an academic journal of college-level classroom best practices. She is an active member of the College English Association. Along with various academic publications, she has authored numerous children’s stories as well as poetry and mystery novels. She strongly encourages the writing of family memoirs for the sake of passing on to younger folks the stories and experiences of their elders. Along with the other members of the Community Writers, she works to build healthy families and strong communities.
