Pietro Michelucci founded the journal Human Computation to serve as a medium for continuing the cross-disciplinary scientific exchange that began with the Springer Handbook of Human Computation. He directs the Human Computation Institute, a multidisciplinary innovation center that seeks to advance the science of crowd-powered systems. An Indiana University trained cognitive scientist, Dr. Michelucci has pioneered such human computation sub-areas as Organismic Computing and Massively Distributed Problem Solving.
