Synopsis

One of the most historically useful decisions made during World War II was to create Information and Historical (I & H) units to conduct combat interviews of survivors shortly after actual events. The 110 or so combat interviews of the 7th Armored Division are preserved at the National Archives in Record Group 407 (Adjutant General). This book contains the I & H notes and narrative account of the Division's defense against a much larger German force attacking through Meijel, Netherlands in October and November 1944. The narrative is based on dozens of interviews.

Wesley Johnston's search for his father's WWII experiences expanded to include all of 7th Armored Division. He is now the Historian for the 7th Armored Division Association and Founding President of the American WWII Association Historians Consortium. He holds Master's degrees in History and Mathematics.
