À propos de l?auteur

The EAJ-award for illustration was launched by Emma Austin-Jones, with no external funding, in 2014 at HOW College (Bromsgrove Campus). To assist Art Students who wished to become published illustrators. To allow an opportunity for those with a creative talent, to compete for a worthwhile award which did not rely upon ‘standard’ academic achievements. The Lilac Story is illustrated by DANNY PHILLIPS winner of the 2014 EA-J Award for Illustration event at HOW College which took place on the 12th June 2014. The award competition process is counted toward final exam result grades for each student entrant. The winning student is awarded a one book (minimum) publishing agreement. They are named on the front cover, allowed a share of book sale (and related merchandise) royalties for life, PR coverage, one to one training and guidance from the EAJ-team. Invited to participate in Author and Illustrator reading events and workshops at venues to include schools and libraries. A copy of each book is also kept by the British Library. Students are supported during the competition process by a volunteer art mentor and winners are selected by a judging panel at the College annual award night in June. The panel consists of EAJ Focus group members who work all year to ensure the award is the best it can be and arrange readings and workshops too. Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP wrote the foreword for The Lilac Story. He also presented Danny with the EAJ-award Trophy after meeting the Author (Emma), Cat Lammas Dyspraxia Foundation Teens focus group member, and Sally Payne Senior OT and Dyspraxia Foundation Trustee. Sajid and his team then arranged for a VIP tour of the prestigious British Library for the award team and winner. This will be an annual event. Emma chose to support the Dyspraxia Foundation with royalties and inclusion in events to help raise awareness of this condition, which has immense personal significance. 20% of all book royalties are donated to the Dyspraxia Foundation. www.dyspraxiafoundation.org.uk www.emmaaustinjones.com https://twitter.com/hebentref
