Mrs. White and Mrs. Black are actual, living, and most unusual chickens. Mrs. White is currently 13 years old, which is well beyond the life expectancy for her White Rock breed. Although she is old, deaf and blind, a situation which normally leads to physical abuse and being pushed low in the pecking order, Mrs. White is actually respected by her fellow chickens and is well cared for by her friend, Mrs. Black, a black Minorca hen. Most Unusual Chickens is a straightforward, easy to read picture book of approximately 340 words for three to five year olds.
