Synopsis

Much of the inspiration in the Book of Isaiah is found in the tremendous scope of Isaiah's vision of who Christ is, and of His role in the history of the world. When studying the Book of Isaiah, get out the telescope instead of the microscope. If you get too far down among the atoms, when you should be looking at the universe, you'll miss it.

A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

Sometime between the age of eight and ten, I was washing the dishes in the old family home on Lakeview Drive in Clearfield, Utah. It was on a conference weekend. My Dad came into the room and said to my Mom, “President Smith says that we need to have more scriptorians in the church.” “What’s that?” I asked. Dad told me that a scriptorian was someone who could read the scriptures, understand what they meant, and teach from them; “Oh,” I said, and went back to washing the dishes. But in my heart of hearts I felt a desire to be one of those scriptorians. And so began what has become a lifelong quest to understand the word of God. I have great confidence in the power of the Holy Ghost to reveal the meaning of the scriptures to every sincere seeker of truth. I encourage you to open your heart to inspiration from on high; allowing our Heavenly Father to guide your thoughts so that you may learn by study and also by faith.
