Graceful tells the inspiring story of Grace Lindstrom, a sixty-year-old woman who has stood by her husband’s side for twenty years, only to find herself at loose ends after his death.
A spontaneous car trip lands her in the small town of Rosalie, where a snowstorm forces her off the road and takes her into the Wonder Bowl bowling alley. Grace instantly feels at home here, and she finds a friend in the owner, Bart Lincoln, who has also lost a spouse to cancer. In fact she feels so comfortable in this setting, this place of belonging that’s quite a change from Beacon Hill and the A-listers in DC, that she decides to stay and become part of the community.
But Grace’s history, and her heritage as a descendant of the Boston Adams, beckons her back to the world of politics when Vice President Bill Anderson announces that he’s going to draft her to run for her husband's vacant seat on the Democratic ticket.
Now her once-dismal future is filled with opportunities—in life and in love—as Grace finds romance along with her own power as a political force.
