Synopsis

What is the root cause of Income Inequality? What is the cause of so much short term thinking in US business today? Who are the real Job Creators? “Flag-waving” patriotism versus “Economic” patriotism? Do half (Romney’s 47%) of Americans really pay no taxes? Why are corporate profits and stock prices soaring, while the middle class is falling apart? What are some new economic measures necessary to measure the new economy? These are a few of the questions that drive “Middle Class Power,” a new way of looking at the US economy through a research lense that takes into account the radical change in the American economy in the last 30 years. Lou Cohen, an established researcher of 30+ years, tackles these questions and more, using research methods developed during his commercial background, and re-applying them for the benefit of a Middle Class that is hurting. Dr Cohen has also developed a single practical solution to solve the myriad of economic problems afflicting the Middle Class.

À propos de l?auteur

Louis Cohen’s undergraduate work was in statistics at the City College of New York, followed by a Ph.D. in psychology at New York University. He taught statistics for a few years and gave seminars to clients, as well as publishing a dozen journal articles on research techniques he developed. He then worked as president and principal of a large market research company for 11 years. When Cohen realized that he would rather do research than serve as president, he sold his interest in the company and started a small research company, Louis Cohen Research, which he ran for 20 years, doing the lion’s share of the research projects himself, with a few people to take care of the logistics, etc. Clients included such major companies as Johnson & Johnson, the NBC Network, Bristol-Myers, Westinghouse Broadcasting, and RJR Foods, etc. Cohen has been a news junkie even longer than a market researcher, and in his retirement devotes his work to currently significant issues like Income Inequality, healthcare, and the entitlements.
