This book was written for elementay school students, with the goal of developing the problem solving skills necessary to excel in school and on standardized tests. Some students are naturally gifted in mathematics and others seem to struggle with it all of their lives. The main difference between these two types of students is their level of mathematical maturity. Although there is no single agreed upon definition of mathematical maturity, I like to define it as “one’s ability to analyze, understand, and communicate mathematics.” The good news is that mathematical maturity can be increased naturally.
