Shyness, awkwardness, loneliness and depression, at some time or another, have touched us all. In "Poems From the Lonely Kid," M.J. Powers reveals the products of what he has channeled from these feelings through his introspective writing. By digging deep within to confront his fears and demons and relive the tragedies and joys of life, he has found poetry to be a useful tool of self-expression. Creating and sharing this poetry through the years has empowered him to break through self-imposed walls that at times had seemed insurmountable. This book contains a selection of 83 poems that deal with a full gamut of emotions. Hope, humor, love, loss and despair are shared in verse, free verse, pantoums, cinquains and rictameters.
