For ten years, a statewide gathering of psychologists and counselors explored the interface of science, psychology and spirituality within the practice of the profession of counseling. An annual retreat ion a beautiful Ohio Park setting was sponsored by the Ohio Psychology Association. Continuing Education Credits were earned. Programs varied greatly but included vital personal sharing among participants. This report features four pillars of the annual retreat conference. Richard F. Reckman, Ph.D., was the Pathfinder; Mary Anne Orcutt, Ph.D., the Planner; Paschal, Baute, Ed.D., the Presenter; and Priscilla Wood, Ph.D., the Participant. The report describes the varying role of these four. Ed Gage was Narrator, Illustrator and Photographer. An illustrated version of this report is available from Ed Gage, at ed.gage@aol.com. The backstory of Ed Gage as narrator, of Richard Reckman and Paschal Baute is included to provide the social context for the origins of both the retreat and the report. No other state association has undertaken such sustained effort to help psychologist and counselors integrate their faith with their professional practice; further, to find personal resources to respect and nurture the faith and spirituality of their clients. This pioneering program deserves wide recognition and much emulation.
