This book is a journey through my life, which has been very convoluted and complicated to say the least. The struggles and disappointments I experienced, which included fa- ther wounds, illness, depression, anxiety, family issues, church drama, death of loved ones, and loss of family relationships, were all a part of my journey. Nevertheless, you will see through every situation God kept me on my journey to the other side and gave me the victory. This journey left a positive and indelible imprint on my life. In fact, it is the testimony of my spiritual calling and life in Christ. My prayer is that this book will positively impact the lives of people all over the world, no matter your gender, age, religion, marital status, or color. Troubles come into the lives of everyone. But, I can attest to the fact that through the power of obedience and the guid- ance of the Holy Spirit, freedom can be yours. I pray through the testimony of my personal successes, and failures, you will find strength. Know you too can journey to the other side amidst any confu- sion or set back and win! Michele "Shelley" Spence by trade is a Cosmetology and she has owned and operated her own salon for over 25 years. She is an ordained Elder and author. She is the founder of a non-profit organiza- tion called, “My Sista My Self ” and is currently enrolled in college earning a degree in Psychology. She is feisty but transparent, with a “down to earth” approach in her mentorship to others. Her goal is to leave a legacy for her offspring, the next gen- eration and to help hurting women who are seeking a way out of emotional and psychological issues. She is a survivor and understands the plight of one who is searching for inner peace and real joy. She plans to pass the baton on by teaching others the value of God’s love, true for- giveness, and self-awareness. In addition, she wants to help show people the way to inner peace by helping them to come to terms with what haunts and taunts at their self-image daily. She is the wife of Chef Donald Spence, a mother and grandmother, who absolutely LOVES her family. Her favorite quote is “To thine own self be true.”
