Paul D Veverka is from Blantyre, Scotland and has an active and growing interest in all aspects of History and improving Community life in his hometown. Born in 1971, Paul is the eldest of 4 children of Josef and Janet Veverka (both dec) from whom he inherited his passion for the history of Blantyre. Chairperson of Blantyre Community Committee and employed in the construction industry, Paul also is owner of The Blantyre Telegraph newspaper, a non profit charitable paper with sales donated to good causes. He has written several excellent local history books since 2013, including the popular series, "Blantyre Project - A Journey in Time Volumes 1 to 3" and in 2015, "The History of Crossbasket Castle." The titles have all been well received in many countries throughout the world and Paul is well known in his hometown. He writes, "Without the warm stories of Blantyre’s history and heritage, without unconditional kindness to neighbours and creating a sense of community pride and understanding that this is where we are from, we would truly have nothing of any real, lasting value to pass to our children.”
