Blantyre book. "The History of Crossbasket" explores the rich and interesting heritage of Crossbasket Castle and estate, situated amongst woodland in High Blantyre. With 34 previous owners dating back to medieval times, the book tells the story of ownership through the Centuries in some detail, right up to the contemporary owners in 2015. With an incredible renovation now complete, the book aims to celebrate the Castle being saved from dereliction and oblivion. With 249 pages, 113 illustrations and over 65,300 words, this is the definitive history for Crossbasket. As an added bonus, there is an appendix called "Tales of Crossbasket" featuring associated stories relating to nearby Blantyre, Calderwood and East Kilbride. A must read!
