Synopsis

Review by Bill Johnson, Author of When Heaven Invades Earth If you have ever said to yourself “there must be more” to following Christ? Then this book is for you. If you’ve ever had an unexplainable hunger for God, and have sensed that there is a realm in God that appears out of reach? Then this book is for you. Brian and Doreen’s story will open your eyes to the possibilities that God made available to every believer. I expect this book to both inspire and give insight as Brian boldly declares the God-process that completely changed his approach to life, making him a believing believer with profound impact on his surroundings. Hunger Driven will encourage you to say yes to God’s invitation to embark on the journey where God’s voice is normal and where responding to His voice in a lifestyle of obedience becomes natural. This book will take the reader into a realm of supernatural encounters that only God’s grace can orchestrate. This story, like the author, is authentic, non-religious, practical, and powerful. Brian, both a pastor and teacher for many years, has been a gift to the body of Christ. He has been an invaluable blessing to us here at Bethel in Redding. He has opened up the scriptures, helping people to have life-changing encounters with God. He is a true student of the Word, and teaches with both insight and authority. Many have been changed as Brian has walked them through the Word of God to discover what God has planned for the average believer today. His story brings hope … abundant hope. In Hunger Driven Brian personally imparts the grace on his life, sharing in a very warm and inviting way what it looked like for him to be drawn out of his theological comfort zone by the Holy Spirit and begin to say “yes” to and navigate the mysterious ways of God. I absolutely love Brian Nickens and his entire family. They are some of the most genuine and powerful believers I’ve had the privilege of knowing. Brian’s life is one big God message. He re-presents Jesus in such and authentic and powerful way. I am thankful for the day God brought him and his family into our lives. We are better for it. His God journey has been encouraging and inspirational. I commend to you both the man and his message, Hunger Driven. Bill Johnson Bethel Church – Redding, CA Author of When Heaven Invades Earth

A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

After 12 years as a Bible Teaching Pastor in the Calvary Chapel Movement my family and I moved to Redding California to plant our second church and found ourselves in the midst of a revival we had no idea existed. Although generally skeptical of the charismatic movement we could not resist the love that the people of Bethel Redding displayed throughout the city. One day while visiting the Bethel campus to pick up a schedule of services a complete stranger approached me and offered to heal my wrists. This person could not have known that my wrists were totally worn out and constantly sore from 25 years of carpet installing. My wrists were completely healed and are now pain free and stronger than ever. Minutes later as I drove away an angel of the Lord came into my car, sat on my lap and assisted me in pulling the car over to the curb. Then the angel moved over to the passenger seat and said nothing, then flew out the car and perched itself on a large rock on the hillside below the Bethel Prayer Chapel. This day was the real beginning of my journey into the supernatural Christian lifestyle. This book is a behind-the-scenes detailed account of what my wife and I had to work through spiritually, emotionally and biblically as the Lord divinely ambushed us and redirected our ministry, certain beliefs and our entire life. I have since traveled all over the world teaching on personal reformation sharing the gospel of the kingdom, healing the sick and delivering some from demonic oppression as I tell our own story. I am so grateful for the firm Biblical foundation I received from my years as a bible-teaching pastor in Calvary Chapel and I love the Jesus People Movement. Chuck Smith was no doubt one of God’s Generals. Becoming rooted and grounded in scripture is essential to a sustained Christian life and ministry of power.
