Synopsis

Quitting smoking was a living and breathing hell. Some part of that feeling is still with me now, nearly five and a half years later. There is never a day that passes that I do not grieve or long for a cigarette. Addiction is an epidemic. We all know someone who is struggling to get clean. Your compassion can make the difference between an addict making it another day or taking their life. If by opening myself up and sharing with you the depths of my suffering opens your heart to others, then my job is done.

À propos de l?auteur

I live in a small Midwestern town where I was born and raised. I have two wonderful children, and now a third through my son’s marriage. For most of my adult life I have been the sole parent, supporting us by cutting hair. Somewhere along the way I felt called to write. It is not often that we get a glimpse into the life of an ordinary person just trying to do her best with what life has given her. These words are my attempt to do that. It is time for us to look more closely into the nature of life itself, to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, that every moment is a gift, every circumstance intended to help us grow and deepen, and that each person we come across is an honored guest in our present reality. If the human race is to survive, we must choose to come together in peace and harmony, as one. The spiritual teacher, Eckhart Tolle once said, “There is no other, there is only me.” Through the words I write, I hope you and I are joined, that we come to love and cherish each other in a deeper and more meaningful way. As one, let us recreate our world in a new and higher form. Debi Hartfield
