This book is aimed directly at people who have a crushing fear of public speaking. It breaks down exactly why so many people feel overwhelmed. It helps you understand where that fear comes from and how to ‘let it go’ and replace it with confidence. It peels away the excuses for the millions of people who would love to speak in public but allow their fear, and probably one bad experience in life, to keep them away from this joyous pursuit. It answers questions like “What would I speak about?” It guides you on the Three Golden Guidelines for putting any speech together, whether it’s for a business or public presentation, or something more personal. There are just 3 basic steps to learn. I challenge you to give public speaking a real go. This book will guide you on how to generate speaking opportunities - how to actually attract requests to speak in public! What if you were guided to put all this together layer by layer and actually deliver a heartfelt, memorable and engaging speak? YOU will amaze yourself!

Neil McLean has been a writer all his life. His passion for the written word and storytelling dates back to childhood. After stumbling into journalism at a young age, Neil played out a media career that formally began in the late seventies. As a presenter he covered a wide expanse of roles in the television industry. Starting out in the ‘affiliates’ Neil worked up through the networks as a program presenter, news anchor and current affairs/feature story journalist. In the early nineties, he established the first newsroom on Australia’s Gold Coast and went on to spearhead that operation for almost eight years. For many years that followed, he headed up newsrooms in several other states as Director of News. Later he went ‘freelance’ and pursued a number of avenues which included writing for national magazines and assignments from international broadcasters. His work as an ‘on-camera’ media trainer saw him crisscross the country guiding and preparing a wide range of professionals to appear in the media. Media crisis and issues management roles saw him accept keynote speaking gigs in Australia, Asia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States. His easy-going and relaxed presentation style led to a long line of corporate presentations both in the public arena and online. A passion for sharing his wealth of knowledge of writing and presenting skills has seen the longtime media professional branch out to write books and continue key-note speaking. His love of music, travel and exploring new places is the perfect combination for a writer/presenter. Neil McLean is based in Australia on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
