Dear Brothers and Sisters,It’s my prayer that the words and short stories in this book will encourage and strengthen you to not give up in the time of adversity! I know what it feels like to be homeless, hungry, locked-up, and alone at a time when you need someone the most. If I’d never suffered those things how could God use me to encourage you and help you to see through my life’s testimonies that He is a miracle worker, a provider, a healer, and a deliver. You to have a story that can help to encourage someone else, but you must first be encouraged.

Gary Thomas was born on February 25, 1963 in Fort Pierce, Florida and was relocated to Gretna, Florida in the year of 1970. He attended school in the Gadsden County Public School system and received his Associates Degree from Amherst Theological Seminary in Biblical Studies. He is one of the proud former presidents of the world known, Toast Masters Gravellier Club. An ordain minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the proud author of his first short story book, I COMMAND YOU TO BE ENCOURAGED and the author of his first novel, THE ROSE BUSH AND THE VISION. This is an incredible opportunity to share a few short stories that I pray will encourage and help other people all over the world on their journey through life’s trials and tribulations. But I want you to understand that it is through my own trials and tribulations that I have been provided with any worthwhile testimonies or wisdom I might have to share about the love of God, faith, forgiveness, and perseverance.
