Synopsis

The 'UrText', (Ur means original), is the name given to the transcript first typed by Bill Thetford and Helen Schucman, from the notes for 'A Course In Miracles' that were received by Helen from Jesus. This original transcript was greatly edited before being released publicly as the Course. The UrText contains a lot of personal dialog between Bill, Helen and Jesus which helps strengthen the sense of how personally our Source is trying to help and work with each of us. Most of the first eight chapters of the Course is derived from these personal interactions - so a lot was lost in the released version, in a sense of context and practical application of the ideas. Also, some ideas were removed altogether, such as the teachings of the importance of getting sexuality right, and what that 'right' is. This supplement is the first eight chapters of the UrText as first typed. It is formatted in a style similar to the Course for easy meditative study-reading. It also contains footnotes to the very many references to the Bible that Jesus uses in the Course. Reading and studying this UrText generates a more personal and emphatic sense of how strongly our Source is trying to work with and help us all the time, from creating a better flow in the smallest details of daily living, to unscrambling the mad desire for separation which continues to trap the mind of the Son Of God in the experience that this world's misery, stress, and seeming violence is real and unavoidable. For many, the UrText gives a new reality to the Truth of the Course, that they didn't get from the Course alone. That is why we are making it available.
