Jake James Mitchell, 28 was born June 30, 1987 in Detroit, Michigan to Teresa Mitchell and Jake Parker. He is the fourth of ten children; as a child Jake discovered poetry, writing his first poem when he was 8 years-old. Jake has a beautiful daughter, Jayla Nicole Allen that motivates him daily. He is inspired poetically by the late Tupac Shakur, Langston Hughes, and his sister Naomi Matthews. Confessions of a Dead Poet is Jake's second project.
