Daniel R. Fredrick is a college professor and since 1996 has taught writing and speaking courses in universities in California, Texas, Florida, Bulgaria, Italy, France, and the United Arab Emirates. At CSU (Sacramento), he studied American literature for his BA degree. In graduate school, he converted to classical rhetoric after reading Aristotle’s Art of Rhetoric and Cicero’s De Oratore. Since 2004, he has traveled to and studied in places important to the history of rhetoric—Athens, Rome, Rhodes, Leontini, Syracuse. Along the way, he has presented papers at international conferences and published on a variety of topics which have rhetorical issues in common. One of his prized academic possessions is his Vatican library card.
