Synopsis

The show opens to the sound of Cinderella and her noisy vacuum cleaner! Buttons tries to talk to the audience but cannot be heard above the din! Cinderella is obsessed with cleaning – it is her escape from the reality of those awful Ugly Sisters. To cheer her up, Buttons puts on her favourite TV adverts – all for cleaning products (Dance?).The Green Meanie makes her nasty entrance and threatens to make Cinderella’s life a complete misery. Fairy Liquid(the godmother) assures the audience that things will work out OK. A couple of characters (James Bond etc) keep trying to get into the show – eventually settling in as Dr Who and Rose. Also, Lawrence, Llewellyn and Bowen enter and start planning the party that the Prince will hold later – one where he will select a wife (if she has that special X factor)Squire and Lady Coathanger arrive and Cinderella explains how busy she has been. At the end of a busy day of cleaning, Cinderella sleeps and dreams of a better life. SET PIECE: the dream sequence – her love of animals, being rich, falling in love, living in a palace etc. Any dream will do!!The ugly sisters make a noisy entrance and we see just how nasty they can be to Cinderella. We also meet Dogsbody – an incredibly old servant. An invitation to the Palace arrives and the Ugly Sisters set about choosing their outfits. SET PIECE: the FASHION SHOW/SHOPPING extravagana and the sisters are prepared to take the palace by storm. Trinny and Susannah eat your heart out!Cinderella is miserable about being left out of the invitations. Buttons tries to cheer her up by giving her a break form cleaning and watching SOAPS SET PIECE Eastenders, Emmerdale, Neighbours could appear in a mixture of songs, dances and dialogues. Another strange thing happens to Cinders when, instead of a Fairy Godmother appearing, she is visited by Dr Hoover!! The CAST present a dance/action sequence featuring Dr Who (and cleaning products) so the whole thing goes with a FLASH and a CILIT BANG!At the Palace, there is another change to tradition as glass slippers have been banned by Health and Safety (not them again!). The Princess and her wedding are going to be selected by an X FACTOR competition SET PIECE. Bands, dancers etc are all auditioned and selected/rejected.The Ugly sisters and others audition too but Prince Dyson has a surprise choice for his bride! This really is a fairy tale ending!

During his teaching career he wrote and directed Christmas shows and the TINSEL TURMOIL PRODUCTIONS have been popular with children and adults alike. They have a basic script for about a dozen characters and then ideas for bringing in any number of other people - choirs, dancers, talented stars!
