James grew up in a poor, minority inner-city neighborhood under the hard work and leadership of a blue collar father, He learned that (1) life is ultimately whatever you make it out to be, and (2) that our past does not necessarily control our future. He lean on faith and capitalize on opportunities. James has been a youth pastor, internship director, associate pastor, and has preached the gospel on three continents. Professionally he became a strategist and serial-entrepreneur providing executive management consulting to start-ups and Fortune 10 companies. He has also been a thought leader and public speaker on topics from mobile technology and business, to morals and values. James Smiley has been married to Lisa Smiley for eleven years and they have four children – Zeke (7), Penny (2), Troy (1), and one on the way due in Feb 2016. The Smiley family calls Dallas, TX home.
