Synopsis

Andre Norton (1912-2005) was one of the most influential writers in twentieth-century science fiction and fantasy, known for her richly imagined worlds and enduring adventure narratives. A pioneer of planetary science fiction and space opera, Norton authored over one hundred novels, including the celebrated Solar Queen series, the Witch World saga, and numerous standalone works that helped shape modern speculative fiction. Her writing is noted for its strong sense of place, exploration of alien cultures, and recurring themes of identity, transformation, and survival. Norton was among the first women to achieve prominence in science fiction and received numerous honors, including recognition as a Grand Master by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
