Andre Norton (1912-2005) was one of the most influential writers of twentieth-century science fiction and fantasy. Over the course of a career spanning more than five decades she produced dozens of novels and story collections that helped shape modern speculative fiction. Known for her imaginative world-building and sense of adventure, Norton created several beloved series including the Witch World novels, the Solar Queen adventures, and the Time Traders series featuring the character Ross Murdock. Her work earned numerous honors, and she became the first woman to receive the Grand Master award from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
