Robert Frost (1874-1963) was one of the most celebrated American poets of the twentieth century. Known for his evocative depictions of rural life and his mastery of traditional verse forms, Frost received four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry and became a central figure in American literary culture. In 1961 he was invited to read a poem at the inauguration of President John F. Kennedy, further cementing his place as a national literary figure.
