À propos de l?auteur

Rudolph Erich Raspe (1736-1794) was a German writer, scholar, and librarian best known for creating the literary adventures of Baron Munchausen. Trained as a historian and scientist, Raspe worked in several academic and museum positions before turning to writing. His most famous work, Baron Munchausen's Narrative of His Marvellous Travels and Campaigns in Russia, first appeared in English in 1785 and quickly became popular for its imaginative exaggeration and comic storytelling. The stories were later expanded and adapted by other writers, helping to establish the Baron as one of literature's most enduring figures of humorous fantasy.Today the adventures of Baron Munchausen remain a classic example of literary tall tales and imaginative satire.
