A collection of essays ranging from music to the arts to the tango of human relationships. The essays examine our strengths, weaknesses, attractiveness as human beings, and our dark side that alienates us from our fellow travelers. There is humor as well as pathos throughout life which is captured in these stories that attempt to capture what human beings are capable of in the daily routines of their lives.

At nearly seventy-one, the author is still searching for a good word that rhymes with orange. When not stymied with such choices, he's busy reading ancient authors such as Dante and Max Beerbohm. He doesn't travel much and avoids interstates at all costs. He keeps trim by digging post holes and dragging lumber into place for the next project. After more than a few years, he's beginning to hear when his sax is in tune. At the end of the day, though, he always hears at his back time's winged chariot drawing near.
