Hi, I'm Colette Orr and I'm from a small town in South Georgia. I absolutely love writing books. It's something I've always wanted to do, but never thought was possible. About three years ago, I decided to finish writing a book that I had been working on for four years. Once I finished it, I took the leap of faith and published it. It was scary and exciting all at the same time, but most importantly, I discovered that it was possible. The take-away from my story is "If you don't ever try to make your dreams come true, you'll never know if they can come true...so at least try." I have published several novels, but "Where Are My Real Friends?" is my first children's book. I have so much love for kids and I really wanted to write something they could relate to. Children deal with so much peer pressure and bullying and sometimes, we as parents will never know because they won't tell us. I wanted to write a book that addresses some of these issues and through it, I hope children will learn how to stand up for themselves and know that they don't have to keep people in their lives who do not treat them right. I'm also hoping this book will encourage parents to talk to their children and teach them how to handle these uncomfortable situations. Just a simple conversation can give a child the courage they need to stand up for what's right, whether the bullying is being done to them or someone else in their school.
