My name is Tim Lally and I’ve lived the majority of my life in a state of denial. Even though I’ve reached the age of physical maturity and have travelled the world extensively and outwardly seem to have the sort of life that most twenty-somethings who are stuck working in cubicles would tend to envy, I’ve never been man enough to face the wounds of having grown up in an alcoholic home that I’ve allowed to continue stunting my growth and keep me from being truly happy. In a follow-up to my debut writing effort America’s Finest Ambassador, Life of a Manchild covers notable experiences I had during the eight months I spent travelling through Asian and Middle Eastern countries including Yemen, Iran and North Korea between September 2012 and May 2013 while exploring escapist behaviors that keep me emotionally arrested by my childhood, damage current relationships and cause me to get into outrageous and shameful – albeit, at times, hilarious – situations wherever I go.
