Peter has always written, but for 25 years his literary output was limited to reports and manuals of unremitting technicality, awash with acronyms, jargon and ordered lists. Eventually, he escaped the binary confines of a career with a major American IT company and ran away to join a public library. In addition to his love for books and writing, Peter there rekindled his interest in genealogy, having first sketched out his family tree in the pre-Internet days of paper records and microfilm. His own past wouldn't quite let go, and as the librarian responsible for electronic services, he introduced online family history databases and ebook downloads alongside traditional library media. After retirement, he achieved a second long-term ambition with the publication of his debut novel, A Forest with no Trees, an unorthodox take on genealogical fiction.
