Carol Ridgely used to live on the street, doing anything to support her addiction to drugs and alcohol. God went out of His way to put people in her path to show her His love and tell her about His son, Jesus Christ. She became a Christian in 1991 but her body is still dealing with the consequences of her old lifestyle. She has been friends with Ann (Ning) since 1998/9 - when Carol got a liver transplant at Georgetown University where Ning was a freshman. When Ning had an AVM rupture and massive stroke at the age of 30, right after deciding to move to Africa as a missionary, she knew that victory through illness was possible because she had watched Mrs. Ridgely live it.
