Synopsis

WHEN VERITY MEADOWS ACCEPTS AN INVITATION TO ‘MURDER MOST DEADLY’ THE LAST THING SHE EXPECTS IS MURDER!

The annual murder mystery evening at Hawbury Manor is going surprisingly smoothly for once—until one too many corpses appear during the second act. And when Verity’s nemesis, Detective Ulysses Hodge, arrives on the scene, Verity knows it’s only a matter of time before things go from bad to worse. With the killer still at large, she and her fearless companion, Leeanne Keating, race to piece together the clues. But, as they close in on the killer, the investigation takes a dramatic turn.

When Verity faces losing everything she’s ever loved, she and Leeanne must track down the one person who can prevent it—her former business partner and wanted criminal, Marcus Pickering.

As Verity brings her newfound sleuthing skills to bear, she discovers that all families have their secrets, and some are worth killing for.

Believe Nothing. Suspect Everyone. Expect Anything.

Murder Most Deadly is the second in a series of humorous British Cosy Crime novels featuring amateur sleuth Verity Meadows and her charismatic sidekick, Leeanne Keating. Set in the fictional English village of Hawbury, it contains all the classic elements of a cosy mystery with plenty of laughs throughout.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: 'Murder Most Deadly' is the second book in a trilogy. Some of its story elements follow on from the first book in the series, 'Death Comes to Hawbury', so while it can be read as a standalone novel, it is advisable to read the books in order of publication to avoid any spoilers.

Praise For Death Comes to Hawbury

"A cosy crime at its finest. The characters are memorable, and the mystery is tightly plotted. Laugh out loud funny. More, please!"

- Chris McDonald - Author of The Stonebridge Mysteries

"Verity Meadows is an absolute gem of a character: She’s ballsy, quick-witted, and sharp-tongued… With its modern-day setting, slick dialogue, and plenty of humour, this was a very enjoyable read."

- The Reading Room

"I absolutely loved this book and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. If you like M C Beaton, Agatha Christie and Kate Greenwood. Highly recommended."

- Amazon Reviewer

"Really enjoyed this - it was so funny in places and great characterisation. Didn’t guess who the culprit was until the end! Eagerly awaiting the next in what I hope to be a long series."
