Synopsis

The August Lea is a vast, mysterious land made up of many wild and dangerous environments from meadows to valleys, and mountain ranges to swamps, but the animals living there have niched out their own, quaint forms of civilzation! The Longtail family from the idyllic mouse city of Triplethorn is swept up into a fantastic adventure when a mysterious note and package arrive under equally mysterious circumstances! The package is from Katrina Longtail’s husband, Gamble, but there’s just one problem; he’s supposed to be dead! While her son, Nimble, is away across town, a vicious storm traps everyone indoors. Their home is vandalized, and Katrina is abducted by horrible swamp rats looking for a map created by her deceased husband! In this not-so-classically-told tale of swords and sorcery, follow Nimble, Katrina, and a host of other animals as the details of an ancient prophecy unfold and come to life! Can the warrior from an ancient prophecy, along with a mixed band of animals and a rag-tag, volunteer army stop a deadly invasion, or are they just prolonging the inevitable? With superior planning, the aid of some highly unlikely allies, and the right amount of luck, the mice may yet prevail!

À propos de l'auteur

Thomas Ingle was born in Anchorage, Alaska. He grew up in and around places filled with wild, unchecked nature! As a youth, he played in the verdant woods of Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, climbed stony ridges and camped in the chilly Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and fished with a cane pole in the crystal clear waters of Indian Creek and the Blue Hole in Middle Tennessee; all of these places were his home at one time or another! His inspiration for the August Lea Chronicles comes from his love of nature, and his childhood adoration of stories by celebrated authors such as Beatrix Potter (Peter Rabbit), and Richard Adams (Watership Down), as well as many others. When not actively writing, he enjoys hiking in the backwoods of Livingston County, or playing any one of a number of musical instruments.
