My name is Lamont Pretrell Muhammad. I grew up in foster care in San Francisco's Bay Area. I graduated from Wartburg College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in reading. I later went on to pursue and gain a Master’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in K-12 Principalship. I served nine years as a third grade teacher in the Waterloo Community School District. Prior to teaching third grade I taught one year of first grade. I currently work as an 8th grade literacy teacher for the district. I am a father of five beautiful children. I am a hip hop artist. I also am a mentor of youth.
