9781519495242: Purring in God's Ears 2

Synopsis

This is the second book in the series Purring in God’s Ears. The first book was written with the purpose of encouraging us all with the truth that God does not waste time and experiences in our lives. He uses them all to further His glory, to accomplish His purposes, and to move us into a more intimate relationship with His Son. Hopefully, the perspective that trials and difficulties are part of the process of life is fixed into our hearts and minds. The struggles are numerous, varied, and untimely, and they cannot be avoided. It is how we respond to God in them that is most important! This book primarily illustrates our need for God’s help in everything while again, in a secondary way, reminding us that God doesn’t waste time and experiences. For instance, the story of Sandy (“The Cat that Nobody Wanted” in the first book) progresses to the cat that was faithful in this book. His journey in the park is truly amazing, as he survived some life-and-death situations with the help of the human. Then there is the story of Foxy, the red fox who also needed help. Her story ties all of the others neatly together to remind us that we all need help from others, as well as from God, throughout our lives. We seem to want to resolve our problems in our own strength and in our own way, but when that does not work, we seek God’s help. In truth, we should seek God’s solution from start to finish. The trials and tribulations of life continue to force me to take my prayer walks and to focus on the needs and situations of abandoned cats. I am continually offended by people and a culture that do not value the life of a person, a child, a cat, or any other animal. It seems that many believe animals are disposable. Sadly, Brighty, Sammy, Mallie, and many of the other cats in this book were abandoned in places where death was certain without someone’s help, yet their stories are rich with encouragement. For instance, Brighty was the cat that wanted to know her place. Don’t we all struggle to know where we belong so that we can fulfill our destiny? If you feel the need for love, read Allie’s or Tiggy’s story. If you are fearful, read Skitty’s story. If you are desirous of a second chance in life, read Chance’s, Sammy’s, or Shadow’s story. If you feel handicapped—physically, mentally, or emotionally—read Mallie’s story. If you feel forgotten in life, read the stories about the stealth cats and the colony. If you have experienced the death of a close friend or your mate, read the story of Sandy or Foxy. There is a story in this book for almost every painful situation. In addition to these unique and beautiful stories filled with encouragement, there is the story of my first cat, Asa. She was a blessing, and she taught me much about cats and life. Her picture is on the front cover. Another special thing about this book is the introduction of other characters in my cat world. There is Wiggles, the German shepherd, who watched and protected the cats and me. There is also Miss Stubby, a handicapped duck, and Foxy, a female red fox who needed a lot of help. Indeed, we all need help—God’s help! And this book reminds us of that truth.
