Synopsis

Matt Allen, a biochemist at a successful Boston biotechnology company, is researching a cure for his daughter’s cystic fibrosis. One morning he discovers his team leader dead, notebooks are missing and building access records have been erased. Unlike the police he is convinced there was foul play.Matt is sent to the UK, where Julia Berrington, a British scientist working at the company’s Nottingham office, tells him that her colleague has disappeared. Duncan Smith grew up in Nottingham, UK. Following a degree in Chemistry at Manchester University he worked as a research scientist for a large pharmaceutical company. In 1993 he moved to the United States to work for the leading biotechnology company, and after twenty-four years in the biopharmaceutical industry he left to fulfill his dream of writing a novel. He lives in Thousand Oaks, California with his wife, Beverley.
