Synopsis

Reason and Rhyme is a collection of both poetry and devotional thought. The greatest majority of the poems came during sermon preparation. Therefore the poems are over various subjects. From Bible stories put to rhyme, to current events, from poems of comfort to poetic humor, these poems have had a part in a ministry of over thirty six years. Along with each poem is a devotional thought. Each thought is taken from a Scripture passage which accompanies the poem so as spiritual relevance to each poem. Being a preacher myself, it is hard to write anything without seeking to have an impact on the lives of others. It is the prayer of the author that you will be blessed as you read these pages. May you find in them both encouragement as well as courage; both lighthearted fun as well as serious thought, and most of all a message of hope as we consider the truths of God together.

À propos de l'auteur

Dr. Randy Raynes preached his first sermon over forty-one years ago. He has been in the ministry now for seventeen years. He is currently the pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mansfield Ohio, an independent Baptist Church of which he has served for sixteen years. He and his wife Vickie have four children; all serving God in their various ministries. Three of his daughters have graduated from Christian colleges and are serving the Lord from Florida to Canada. His son is finishing high school and is actively involved in various aspects of the church ministry as one of the assistants to the pastor. Dr. Raynes has served as an assistant pastor, senior pastor, as an assistant to a chaplain in law enforcement, a revival and youth camp speaker. He has authored four other books as well as several in depth Bible studies.
