À propos de l'auteur

Clare Collins was born in 1951 in Adelaide to British parents. The family returned to England in 1957. Brought up and educated in Essex she began to write poetry at the age of fifteen after her father died. Whilst at school a long poem of Clare's reached the final stages of The Times Children's Literary Competition and was Highly Commended. After leaving school Clare attended a one-year course in Speech and Drama and gained a College Certificate. Clare went on to train as a teacher. Married with three children she the studied at home and gained a B.A. During her time at Teacher Training College several of her poems were published in the student magazine. Clare won a Diploma in the UK section of the Scottish International Poetry Competition 2000/2001 with her poem "Meet Me". She also won a Special Commendation for her poem "The Kiss" in the 6th How do I love thee Open Poetry Competition for Love Poetry. Several of her poems have been published by United Press and also in the magazine My Weekly. A selection of poems were displayed in Chelmsford library and according to the Chelmsford Weekly News were, "enhanced by her own watercolours." Clare read some of her poems written for children and also some Haiku in the community tent at The Second Colchester Free Festival. Clare is also an artist and has won the Friends of The Beecroft Award. One painting appeared in an exhibition in Colchester for Amnesty International. She has also had two solo exhibitions in libraries in Essex and exhibited some of her paintings at The Dedham Art Centre. She has published four poetry books to Kindle and has one other paperback published Scattered Fragments by Clare Collins, also a poetry book.
