Natalie Cabinda is an educator by profession with 19 years of teaching experience. She holds an M.A degree in English and an M.ED. She’s an Adjunct Assistant Professor who also teaches high school full-time. Ms. Cabinda has worked with many school districts across the United States, from the west coast to the east coast, and she understands the challenges of teaching, parenting and counseling children from divorced families; she has also had the opportunity to grow in knowledge and experience through regular interactions with counselors, divorced parents, children from divorced families, and her own experience as a divorced mother. As a single mother of three children, Ms. Cabinda knows firsthand how important it is for single parents to receive help that’s aimed at maximizing their potential. In her book, Breakthrough Setbacks: Regroup, Refocus and Rebuild, she shares tips and strategies that helped her rise from the pain and embark on a successful path. Ms. Cabinda currently lives in Flemington, New Jersey. Her other upcoming books include a memoir and a poetry collection. She reads, writes, and enjoys competitive team sports. Born, raised, and educated in the West African country of Cameroon, Ms Cabinda immigrated to the United States in 1994. Life without the extended family or a support entourage became extremely challenging for the newly migrated family, and after 17 years of trying to make it work, the couple finally separated in 2005. When her ex husband moved to another state shortly after their divorce, Ms. Cabinda found herself raising all three children alone and unemployed. Relying on her skills as a teacher and a parent, frequently consulting with her counselors, colleagues, and other single parents, Ms. Cabinda was able to regroup, refocus and rebuild, setting herself and her children on a path beyond divorce.
