Synopsis

When an ongoing argument between her born-again aunt and her Buddhist uncle threatens to break her family apart, sixteen-year-old Vonnie Green tries to intervene, but fails miserably. Her mother, with her crystals and tarot cards, is more annoying than helpful. Her best friend gets involved in the troubles of another girl just when Vonnie needs her advice. The boy she likes seems more interested in introducing Vonnie to gourmet food than in kissing her. And what about the “eco-bullies,” who make Vonnie feel guilty every time she uses a plastic bag? Vonnie hikes the hills nearby to collect her thoughts, but must she climb to the top of the mountain to get to the bottom of it all?
