The first words of the Book of Revelation are, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him..." The Book of Revelation is about God giving Jesus Christ a revelation about Himself to show the Apostle John. This book is not a book about antichrist or the great tribulation. No place in the Book of Revelation is the word "antichrist" found. It's about Jesus Christ. We find this revelation in four separate Great Visions shown John by an angel sent to John. When we combine these four Great Visions, we have God's revelation of Jesus Christ and the meaning and purpose of the Book of Revelation. Four Great Revelation Visions divide the Book of Revelation. These four Great Visions have numerous smaller visions sub-heading the four Great Visions, but once we find the four Great Visions, we grasp the Book of Revelation. Finding these four Great Visions is not difficult. John going on a trip "in the Spirit," designates each of the four Great Visions. For example, the first Great Vision begins in Revelation Chapter 1 and verse 10. The verse says,Revelation 1:10 I was IN THE SPIRIT on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet (emphasis added)This phrase, "in the Spirit," designates the Great Vision of Jesus Christ in the midst of the seven candlesticks. Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of the Book of Revelation contain this aspect (25%) of the total Revelation of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of Man and dominates chapters 1, 2, and 3. John gave the Son of man's revelation describing Him from His voice to His feet. Then the Son of man spoke to each church with an aspect of His revelation. This is the first Great Revelation Vison God gave of Jesus Christ, and the angel showed John. Each of the four Great Visions begins with John taking a journey "in the Spirit," and each Great Vision gives a different revealing of Jesus Christ. The four Great Visions combined give us God's revelation of Jesus Christ shown John by the angel.Revelation 4:2 begins the second Great Vision. John said,Revelation 4:2 And immediately I was IN THE SPIRITThe second Great Vision is the Lamb Slain revelation. The angel showed John a separate description and revelation of Jesus Christ. This Great Vision is chapter 4 through chapter 16 of the Book of Revelation and gives another aspect of God's revelation of Jesus Christ. Revelation 17:3 begins God's third Great Revelation Vision of Jesus Christ the angel showed John. John said, Revelation 17:3 So he carried me away IN THE SPIRITThis Great Vision is Jesus Christ shown and described as King of kings and Lord of Lords going through the nations with a rod of iron. We find this aspect of God's revelation of Jesus Christ in chapter 17 through chapter 20. Revelation 21:10 begins the fourth and final Great Vision of God revelation of Jesus Christ. John said, Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away IN THE SPIRITThis aspect of God's revelation shown Jesus Christ and given John describes the Lamb's wife. God's revelation of Jesus Christ is God and the Lamb are the temple within the Lamb's wife the church. God and the Lamb are the light within the Lamb's wife the church, and God and the Lamb are the throne within the Lamb's wife the church.
