Heaven our Destiny If God allowed anyone, but the humble to enter heaven, then heaven would be a place for both those who live the truth and those who do not live the truth. But there can be no one in heaven who is not true. Therefore, neither can there be anyone in heaven who is not humble. Humility is truth since it is a proper rule of self-knowledge as well as knowledge of God. It doesn't allow itself to be raised above what it truly is nor does it seek to take what belongs to another's dignity. 1. Do I often think about what it means to be humble? 2. How will the humble live in heaven? 3. No one can be worthy of heaven, but everyone is worthy of being only who they are and nothing more. Moderates Hope There have been many Saints who completed their course of service to God by demonstrating their heroic virtues. All Jesus asks us to do is to moderate our hope. Hope is a future good and when we hope for what doesn't bring us closer to God thru love of Him or our neighbor, then we are straying from God. In order to moderate this hope in ourselves, we have to know what we are capable of with God and what we are capable of without God. When we choose to go the way of our false self we may gain what we seek for, but we also lose our path to Jesus Christ. St. Teresa asked Jesus what humility was and Jesus told her "for the soul to know what she can do and what I can do."
