In the previous two books in this series, “Aikido, Iron Balls and Elbow Power” and “Aikido Body, Mind and Spirit”, the author describes various training situations and Aikido principles using, as a framework, the interaction between a fictitious Aikido teacher called Alex Essani and his student, Ian. This book follows the same format, each chapter either introducing a new idea or revisiting one from the other two books. These ideas are offered as food for thought and they represent the author’s current thinking about Aikido theory and practice. If you have already been practising Aikido for some time then you may be familiar with some of the questions and answers that appear in the conversations between the teacher and the student. And if you are near the start of your Aikido training, then possibly you have these experiences to look forward to. Either way, this book could help you on your Aikido journey.
